Have you ever sat down with Google and asked politely, “cramping after ovulation” +duration ? Well, if you do, a hundred sites are hurdled at you where super fertiles are asking this question in their super perky manner. I looked at several before throwing in the towel, and decided to ask the experts…all of you!
Today is ten days post ovulation, and I am learning that cycling with your gynecologist isn’t nearly as fun as with the RE. There are no tests to check out follicles, just knowing you ovulated with them is enough. There are no beta tests performed. You just sit and wait for your period to arrive. How stressful!! Well, now, I’m just curious what on and off cramping would mean 10 days post ovulation, if anything. It’s just a random thing (for lack of a better word) that has been happening for two days now, and it has not happened to me before. It’s not a dull ache, but more like a tight sharp pain. So, my fellow infertile doctors in training, please don your white coats for a moment and help a fellow sister out!

Well I’m no expert but implantation can occur between 7-10 after O. Some women experience a one day temp drop. Some have some “implantation cramping”. It seems unlikely that it would last for 2 days but every cycle is different.
Or you could be getting your period ahead of time.
Or it just could be nothing.
I, for one, will keep my fingers crossed.

That’s just it–you never know. Because I am neurotic and have waaaay too much time on my hands, I kept track every month of all of my symptoms. And the month when I got pg and carried mostly to term felt literally no different from the months when I didn’t. There wasn’t a magical moment where I knew.
I’ve had the cramping and I haven’t had the cramping too. I’m echoing flygirl’s thoughts–it could be implantation (since 10 dpo would be the cusp).
I’m going to remain on the hopeful side with you. Crossing my fingers.

I mentioned this in my e-mail to you, but I thought I would post here too - I had a lot of cramping on and off after around 10 dpo. It has tapered off a bit, but it still shows up. And, as you know, my betas came back positive. The cramps felt like AF cramps too, so it was hard to tell whether it was AF on its way or a sign of pregnancy.

So, what was it? (Tell me good news!) How long did it land up lasting? Starting about 10 days before the big P was due I started having cramps and now 6 days before AF they’re still there. I’ve had a little bit of brown spotting too.

So I ovulated last week (confirmed by ovlulation test). Got these period cramps two days later…and now a week later I still have them. Called the dr and she asked me to come in…I actually saw the Physcians Assistant. Just got back from my appointment and she said it could be a variety of things
1. Early period pains
2. Too early to take a pregnancy test
3. Period is coming and I’m just cramping of the 7th day in a row
4. If pregnant, cramps shouldn’t last this long. This goes against everything i have read or heard from a friend who experienced very bad cramps when she got pregos.
Quite honestly, I don’t know what to think…I guess I just have to be patient and see if my period comes or not. It’s very frustrating though!!!!

I ovulated on Nov. 3, that I am sure since I’ve got pain every cycle (28 days ALWAYS!) for about a day. A week later exactly, my breasts started to be sore and I felt a bit of cramping. I always get my first period symptoms about 3-4 days before the due date. But this time they started 10 days before!!! I am now 12 dpo and have been cramping for 6 days, headaches (which I never get), dull lower back pain, VERY sore breasts and fatigue. AF should be coming on the 20th… This has never happened before, to have all of these symptoms almost 2 weeks before AF! I tested negative to a hpt yesterday, but I hope I was just too early. I see here that I am not the only one with these symptoms. Crossed fingers and baby dust everyone!

I am about 5 dpo (sorry im just learing all this lingo) and having lots of symptoms.. sore (.)(.), bloating, gas, funny ‘feeling’ and almost like a really dull period pain.. dumb me did a test yesterday which was of course negative.. but I am only off the pill for 3 weeks.. has anyone here found they got preg when straight off the pill..

My Husband and I have been together for 5 1/2 years and used the withdrawal method then we got married Jan 12 2008 and have been trying to get pregnant. I got the “ok” from my obgyn to have babies even though we never conceived in the 5 1/2 years of using the withdrawal method. the last day of my period was the 10th of Jan and I have been using ovulatin test strips and have been having sex when ovulating (last Sunday and Monday). I am hoping I am pregnant. I am 5 days past ovulation and I have been bloated, crampy and on the verge of puking. I have been reading on the net that signs of pregnancy usually don’t show up until the day of your missed period- so what am I feeling???.I usually have signs of getting my period 2 or 3 days before it. I can’t wait until I can test. Let me know if any of you with these same signs have become pregnant. I would love to know what is to come!

I am now 7 dpo and my anxeity is killing me!!! I took a hpt on day 5 and of course it was negative (hopefully it was just to early) was wondering how long I should wait to take another hpt. Any advice would greatly be appreciated! Since our daughter’s weren’t planned it if just so frustrating actually trying to plan a pregnancy! Sheila, I would wait until the day of your missed period because some home preg tests aren’t sensitive enough to pick up the hcg hormone until the day of or a week after your missed period. Today is the day I should be starting mine, but I only have have 1 preg test left and want to use it tonight or tomorrow. I hope the best for you!!!

Hey all, i have been off the depo for 19 months and have regular cycles of 29 days for the past 6 months. Been ttc and been taking ovulation tests, i had intercourse on the day i ovulated and its now 5 days before af due but been having sore breasts and period like cramps but i NEVER get af cramps until the day im due on. Well, it turned out that I am not pregnant. My cycle was 35 long days. Probably from stress. We will be trying next cycle!!!
Trying for Number 2- those symptoms could be a period or pregnancy. From my last experience, you might be stressing from it too much and delaying your period even though you have the signs. I would test if you’re a week late.
That’s what I am going to do next time !

Well, it’s the next month and I am 36 days into my cycle and this afternoon i started cramping and feeling bloated. bb’s are very sore- more sore than they have ever been. I am waiting until tomorrow to take a pregnancy test, but I know if I don’t start AF tonight, I am prego. Here’s hoping!

hello, this is my first post hope i’ve done it right ok.
Its 7 days past O had backache since day 5 feeling quite funny, belly full of gas like symptoms and weird feelings lower down like period pains type feelings i am 10 days till period which is very strange for me to be having period pains so early. I was so happy to read all the above posts. the last few days i have cried my heart out coz i did not know what was happening to me. we want to have kids badly and i have had 2 inseminations and it is 11 dpo….i have the cramps, mood swings, bach ache….the lot!! i did a preg test 4 days ago and it was negative. it is frustrating and very stressful. but it is a great feeling to know i am not alone…there are others like me.

well..my waiting for this cycle is over…it is disappointing….i got my period. i felt a weird sense of loss…a feeling of utter hopelessness. But in all that negativity, deep down i feel i will have a baby one day…dont know when…so, i back to my clomid and another insemination this month. If it doesn’t work this month i have go through IVF. I met the nurse last week and after i heard her spiel i am not too enthusiastic about IVF. Has anyone been through the procedure? how bad is it? what are the sideeffects?

I am experiencing many of the symptoms that others are describing (gassy sensation, heartburn, brown spotting, sore breasts, etc….) I am 7 days PO and am wondering if I could be pregnant. I can’t take a test for another week so I am going a little crazy with the anticipation right now. Thank you to those of you who have provided updates. They have been really helpful! It seems that many people have this brown spotting an cramps but I am trying to figure out how often these are actual signs of pregnancy. Hi, last month i wasnt lucky, but now again think i might be this time. at 2dpo i had sore breast until now 10dpo, 8 days straight… i usually get sore breast 1-2 days before af, i had been feelin diff these last couple days, i been cravin alot, i been very moody, i actually cried 2 days ago over 1 french fry that my dh grabbed from my plate.. i felt stupid then, but can that be that i am pregnant, i sure really hope so..

Hi. I have been having a normal 28 day cycle for several months now, however last month was a 26 day cycle. My period came on 3/31 & on 4/13 I noticed some bleeding (pinkish brown) that has been very light in flow. I have also had mild cramps. My next period should start around 4/28. My husband & I have been trying 4 awhile now, however he had a vasectomy reversal & I am afraid to get my hopes up since our odds are lower than others. I have never been pregnant before nore had i had symptoms like this so far from my expected period. Can anyone relate or give any advice-Its driving me crazy cause I want to be pregnant sooo bad! Hello…i checked my ovulation dates online by entering in my 3 previous cycles…and it said it was from April 9-14…has sex twice during that time (my damn husband works 24h periods away from home)….and at 6 and 7 dpo felt sick, and dizzy off and on..even through the night…then nothing til 9 and 10 dpo with period like cramps…..i have a question..normally id be expecting my AF on the 28th…but that math doesnt add up in my head with the ovualtion calculator? i have a 31 day cycle ..and always get my AF on the 28th….im hoping, but am confused at this all :S

The last one month has been another learning…i went through another insemination on the 16/04/2008 and my waiting game is on. The tears keep rolling for no reason or rhyme…wonder what that means…Are my hormones completely out of balance or is it the first sign of pregnancy…my mind says hormones but my heart hopes for a pregnancy…keeping my fingers crossed.

I have been having some discomfort in my chest area for a couple months now, it hurts even under my left arm and the side of my breast area. It seems to come on about 7-10 days before my cycle. The discomfort is also accompanied by constant flatuence. Sometimes I think it is my heart but I have done tests that all come back normal. I also get a bit anxious when this discomfort begins. It goes away either when my cycle begins or a couple days after it leaves. Is this normal….

I had my period on 17 th May 08. I had ultra sound on my 14th day and had HCG injection. Now today is my 31st day. But yesterday we had sex and light brownish bleeding seen for few hours. But severe abdominal cramp is there. Whether I’m pregnant or is it my ususal period?

I am at cd22, and 5 dpo. My dh and I had sex on day of O. At 4 dpo I got very naseus in the afternoon and again this afternoon. My bb have been sore for the past two days and they don’t usually do that at all before AF. I had been constipated for several days until today and experienced cramping today as well. AF is expected in 8 more days. I am taking Prometrium, Clomid and Fortamet. Could this be it? Any ideas on how soon I should test?

I was taking those fertile aid pills, my cycle used to be 31 days after 3 weeks of taking them, my cycle changed to 28 days, thats why I was craming so early and I mistaked them for implantation cramping… Maybe this could be good for next month, But now I dont know when I am going to ovulate…??? Oh…… Allison you should be able to test 10 days past ovulation. From what I have heard usually one of the biggest signs are sore bb and nausea… Constipation usually happens a lil later. (Just from my experience). Good luck! Blood tests are the most accurate and most sensitive

I am frustrated because before we were married my cycle was 30 days— now it is 40 days. It just decreases my chances each month!! Supposed to start Saturday…let’s hope i don’t !!

HEY KELSEY, HAVE YOU TRIED ONE OF THOSE KITS FROM LIKE WAGREENS OR ANY LOCAL DRUG STORE FOR YOUR HUSBAND, I THOUGHT IT WAS MY HUSBAND THAT MAYBE HIS SPERM COUNT WAS LOW, SO I BOUGHT A MALE FERTILITY KIT.. Lets see I will probably test on or around the 26th I am supposed to start on the 28 or 29th so we will see… Yeah I am telling you they have those they are in the isle were all the ovulation kits and prego tests are. Its cheaper than going to the doctor and it tells you the same thing the doc will tell you. Are you feeling any symptoms?

First time posting…took an ovulation test had LH surge on 7 or 8, can’t remember…but was with hubby the 4th-10th everyday…..I am now 9 days past ovulation….and wondering if I should test or not tomorrow morning??? Has anyone had a postive 10 dpo??

Hello to all!! This is my first post anywhere! Maybe someone has a bit of insight for me. I ovulated on Wed the 9th and my husband and I had lots and lots of fun sunday the 6th - Fri the 11th. Since then I am 9dpo and have had dizzy spells, get tired quickly, continuous lower back pain and sometimes even my hips. Not to mention quick to snap and quick to tear up! On the 8dpo - today, (9dpo) I am having a kind of clear to milky discharge. Took a test and its a shadow or my imagination at work not sure which. Mother nature should be visiting on Wed the 23 (hopefully not)! My cycles are very normal at 28 days. Does this sound like i’m pregnant to anyone else? PLMK, thanks!!

PS: Hope this helps someone! I got 10 Early Detection pregnancy tests from Ebay for less than $5.00 that measure 20/mIU. I did that test this morning and it didn’t really show much but a questinable shadow. However I just took a test that costs $1.00 at Dollar General (same tests available at Dollar Tree) that measures 25/mIU at 12:30 and I got a better shadow within the recommended timeframe! I have used this test before and it is and seems to be more reliable than the more expensive tests and it’s ok to test as much as you want with the price! Will test again on Sunday.

Katherine…I would say that it looks reallllly good for you! I have never ever had a shadow on a dollar test!!! and believe me…i have used a lot!
took another test this morn…13 dpo and BFN…no more testng this time for me…hopefully i wont see AF though!

Sounds like you hit the jackpot!!!Okay today is 7 days past ovulation for me.. I am having pains in my ovaries mostlty my right one like as if I was going to ovulate or get my period, My peroid is not due till the 28 or 29 so it cant be that and I already ovulated….So I am not sure. I felt this last month as well but it was 3or 4 days before I got my period, in this case I still have 9 or 10 days to go….. hummmm I dont want to get my hopes up, I have noticed I have had a lil more like clear milky discharge than usual. I feel my self a lil more moist than usual…. we shall see… Good luck Kelsey, I hope to hear sumthin good from you this month

Sara… They sell them in walgreens were the ovulation kits are, they are called male fertility test. I got one and they work, you just have to follow the directions to a T!

Good morning! Update. I’m now 11 dpo and did a digital test this morning and got a BFN!! AF still 3 to 4 days away. DID I TEST TOO EARLY AGAIN? or should I give up for this month? Confused after having different shade of shadows during the test time frame.

Katherine…I am a test-o-holic soooo i start testing at like 10 DPO though i hear the average first BFP is actually 14 DPO and even later!……so even though some people do get early BFP’s…its not the norm. Keep on testing!!!
I am a day “late”….though this happened last month too , for the first time my cycle was 29 days…so Im not getting too excited yet.

Well went to test this morning and got to deal with AF this morning! With all the symptoms and such that I had and the tests, could this have been what they call a Chemical Pregnancy? I don’t suffer PMS symptoms and till now been very in tune with my body to the point I would have almost wagered money that I was pregnant! WoW, completely confused. PLMK, and guess it’s off to try again!!

Heather HI!! So as of today you are 13 dpo. You said your period was due today but it did not show and got a BFN too. Are you having any kind of discharge like clear to milky? If yes then AF is probably in a day or 2, or implantation bleeding might be setting in or, if not then test again around 14-16! You will probably see a BFP!! Good Luck I hope its good news!!!!!

Katherine, no discharge at all a few days ago I had yellow….and thought I had a yeast infection, but that is done now, so I don’t know!!! YIKES! I have been REALLY moody, boobs are killing me, and feelign quesy, let’s see! Either this is REALLY bad PMS or I will get a BFP soon!!!!! Ha Ha
