So, I am this <—> close to having my lap scheduled. Talked with an amazing woman over at the doc’s office, and I was scheduled for the 27th. However, for circumstances beyond control, that will not work for the two doctors who will be performing mine. Soooo, I should have an exact date within the next few days. Talk about being nervous and excited all at the same time! Hmmm, perhaps I’ll go more into that tomorrow.
I will say that I really liked the woman I spoke with at the office. I told her about the support group that we formed in this area, and she said she hadn’t seen the flyer. I’m guessing they all got lost in the ginormous (of course that’s a real word!) stack of insurance forms, test results, appointment books, and all that. I told her I would drop off some more. She was super thrilled with the idea, and assured me that there is most definitely a need for an infertility support group in this area. Then, she further assured me that we will need more space than the location we current have. I’m not sure if I’m sad or thrilled. I’m completely bummed there are that many infertile women walking around this area, but glad to know that soon they will feel a little less alone.
So, now it’s all about waiting.
Oooooh, you want to know about the social worker do you? Haven’t heard from her since she stood us up ten days ago despite repeated messages. I don’t even want to go there.

This Saturday we were all prepared to go hiking again, but good ‘ol Mother Nature had other plans! We need the rain desperately. No worries, the hiking was shifted to Sunday. We’re going for another five plus mile hike. Love it! As a result, I was freed up to go to Sharah’s house for a Southern Living party. Rumor has it we get to sample some of her culinary skills. Can’t beat a bunch of women getting together, eating, and having a good time!
Speaking of a good time, the 27th through the 29th should prove to be one as well. We are headed to Buffalo Run in TN. We’re going on a 17.5 mile float trip. You know the kind of trip where you bring everything you are going to need for three days in your canoe with you, sleep in a tent, and rough it for a weekend. Ahhhh….no cell phones…no appointments…no laundry…no makeup…just pure fun. Last night was card night over at my parents (once a week we head over to play cards), and my mom announced she would go. That’s exciting stuff right there. This is way more than roughing it for her. I’m so proud of her for joining in on the fun! So, it looks like my parents, brother, Justin, and myself will all be going together. Awwww….a family trip. Good thing we always have a blast together! Considering the five of us will have to work together as a team for three full days with no distractions. I really do have a cool family. I don’t know many friends who can say they have danced on a bar with their brother for a shot in Mexico with their parents laughing hysterically and taking pictures as future blackmail. Or, people who can say that their dad had actually been to a foam party. Or, people who can say their mother is truly their best bud, and is always up to listening to me discuss infertility or any topic of choice on any given day or hour. I am lucky.
Back to the trip. I know the three guys plan on sleeping in hammocks, and my mom and I will be in a tent. My brother and dad have done this trip before, and that’s always handy. They will know the best spot to camp, what you will truly need to bring, and what just isn’t necessary. Let’s hope we have the same opinion on what is and isn’t necessary though!
