Have I mentioned my uterus hurts?

May 5, 2007 · 9 Comments

Have I mentioned how bad it hurts to get your period after having a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy only seven days post op?  That’s right, I finally quit bleeding from the surgery only to begin with my period the very next morning.  Owwwww….  While I admit that my period is NOTHING like it used to be, this one isn’t all that great.  I’m guessing the poor ute is just plain sore from all of this. Oh, and please allow me to complain for just one moment about having to wear pads.  For the love of everything holy….it’s like wearing a dang diaper!  I’m looking to have something that wears a diaper, not be one!  Uggghhh…only a few more days.

I’ve watched the scale creep upwards in the past week, and am none to thrilled.  However, I find myself pondering how to find a balance between what is good for ovulation/trying to conceive (less than four hours of exercise per week, with a lower heart rate) versus what is good for my sanity while looking at the scale (plenty of running, jumping, climbing, you name it.) I can honestly say that I’ve never actually thought about exercise and how it affects my ability to conceive, but damn it, now that I know I can technically procreate…I don’t want to work against my body.  Perhaps some good questions for Dr. Local during our follow up on the 10th.

On to less whiny things.  Friday I went and picked up a really pretty fern to hang on our front porch and some azaleas.  We’ve decided to make flower beds in our sunny back yard.  Sunday will be all about planting.  Ok, it will be all about Justin planting, and me directing.  Yeah, that’s more accurate!

Friday night, we went over to my parents’ house for dinner.  They made some fabulous steak.  Mom thought perhaps my body could use some red meat, with all the goings on.  (Yes, I am most definitely a carnivore, and a woman who loves her red meat.  I just don’t eat it often.)  Wouldn’t you know it was the best night’s sleep I’ve had in the past week!  I love my mom. She’s brilliant!  R and E were also over, and we all played C.ranium.  Too funny!  We had a blast! (Still kickin’ myself for not being able to hum R.ocket M.an though!)

Today was the same crew, minus Justin (he had to study), and we went to the parade of homes.  Good walking for me, and it is always interesting to see why a million dollar house is so darn special.  Sometimes I just left scratching my head, and others I left asking how many maids it would take to run the place!

This evening we barbecued over at R and E’s house.  Sooo yummy!  After dinner, we sat around and listened to some of the hilarious childhood stories of R, a few from Justin, and a couple from my dad.  How on Earth any of them made it to adulthood is beyond me!  No, seriously!  I can’t remember laughing that much in a long time.  Thanks for having us E!

Well, time to hit the hay.  Where did that phrase come from anyway? (yawn…) Night everybody.
